A nice video I received from K8II, for a AO-27 pass he worked me on (as well as some other QSOs). I was using my homebrew dual (VHF/UHF) Yagi and diplexer and Yaesu VX-5R HT. Still trying to figure out why I didn’t work NS1Z :-)

So, I decided to build a homebrew Arrow style satellite antenna and try my hand (HT) at ‘working the birds.’ Still a noob, but starting to get the hang of it. Holding the antenna and HT leaves no hands free, so I’ve figured out how to record the flurry of activity (sat passes are fleeting) on my android device in my shirt pocket. I also use an app called HamSatDroid to track the sats. Here’s the audio from my 2nd try at satellite SO-50.
